Professor Caplan will discuss his new book, "Measuring Peace: Principles, Practices and Politics" (Oxford, 2019).
Billions of dollars are spent each year in support of efforts to build peace in countries emerging from violent conflict. But how do we know that the peace being built is a stable peace? This talk discusses the challenges of measuring peace consolidation.
 
Richard Caplan is Professor of International Relations at the University of Oxford. He has written extensively on peace- and state-building.
