Centre of Governance & Human Rights (CGHR)

This month, CGHR’s Declarations Podcast launched its sixth season. The season will feature eight episodes focusing on human rights in an age of new technologies, exploring how human rights are threatened, protected and transformed by our rapidly shifting technological landscape. The episodes will cover a range of cutting-edge topics, ranging from biometrics in border control and predictive policing to deep fakes.

The podcast team is based at the CGHR and made up mostly of students, who bring together a diverse range of experts from academia, activism, policy and industry for each episode. This season builds on the success of the podcast’s five previous seasons since its launch in 2016, each of which has interrogated contemporary human rights issues from a different standpoint and brought valuable and challenging conversations to a wide audience.
