During its second year, the Centre of Governance and Human Rights has advanced its goal of becoming an innovative forum for research, knowledge-sharing and ideas exchange within Cambridge on issues of human rights and governance in Africa and the global South. We have focused in particular on developing our research agenda, and have grown our capabilities for such work. Notably, we brought on board our first post-doctoral Research Associates, Dr Iginio Gagliardone and Dr Florence Brisset-Foucault, to take forward our research on the theme of new technologies and political change in Africa.
