Albert was joined by architect and journalist Alison Killing at an event to mark the release of Move Slow and Update: The Power of Incremental Innovation.

In Move Slow and Update, Albert and co-author Evan Selinger advocate for “upgrades”—evidence-based, incremental change—in contrast to the “move fast and break things” ethos popularized by Mark Zuckerberg and associated with recent technological innovations such as the metaverse, cryptocurrency and home surveillance.
At the launch event, held at the Cambridge University Press Bookshop, Albert remarked that such high-risk innovations have resulted in the public paying the price. Yet, that realistic hope can be found in the unsung upgraders who drive meaningful progress—solutions that he and Selinger discuss in the book.
