He is a Scottish lawyer and academic, and former Judge of the Court of Justice of the European Communities. He was a member of the UK Commission on a Bill of Rights, 2011–12. He is Professor Emeritus at the School of Law, University of Edinburgh. He will be interviewed by Dr. Sharath Srinivasan.
