Christian Katzenbach is Professor of Media and Communication at the Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research (ZeMKI), University of Bremen. He is Head of the Lab “Platform Governance, Media, and Technology” and directs the MA programme “Digital Media and Society”. His research and teaching is informed by a multidisciplinary background in media and communication studies, philosophy, and computer science. In international projects funded by national research councils, the European Commission and foundations, he investigates the formation of platforms and their governance, the discursive and political shaping of “Artificial Intelligence” (AI) and the increasing automation of communication. At CGHR, Christian is collaborating on the CGHR research theme “Global Experiences of Algorithmic Governance“.
